Golf Competes at Gillette Ridge Invitational
Freshman Jon Dumais places 32nd in the Leopards' first two-day event of the season.
BLOOMFIELD, Conn. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team competed in its first two-day tournament this past weekend as the Leopards were at the Gillette Ridge Invitational, hosted by the University of Hartford. The two-day event featured 10 teams and a total of 55 student-athletes competing.
Wentworth placed 10th with a total of 687, however, the Black & Gold shaved seven strokes off their day one total of 347 to finish Sunday's round with a 340.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Jon Dumais was Wentworth's medalist, carding a 167 (81-86) to finish 32nd.
- Pablo Artero had the biggest jump between day one and day two for Wentworth, as he moved up nine places after shooting an 80 on Sunday, 10 strokes better than his 90 on Saturday, for a 170. He placed 37th.
- Garrett Kendall posted a two-day total of 174 (86-88) for a 42nd-place finish.
- Ethan Lackner rounded out the Black & Gold's scoring golfers on the weekend, finishing with a 176 (90-86) to finish 44th.
- Ryan Vincent also competed for Wentworth, finishing 51st (183; 92-91).
