Golf Takes Home Mitchell Invitational
Leopards place three in the top five to shoot a season-low 316 to capture the event
GROTON, Conn. – Placing three golfers among the top five, the Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team captured the Mitchell Invitational, played at the par 71, 6,562-yard Shennecossett Golf Course.
The Leopards carded a season-low score of 316, besting their previous season low by two strokes, which was also set at this this course back on September 12. Wentworth defeated Mitchell (331), Albertus Magnus (340), and Lesley (353).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Garrett Kendall was Wentworth's medalist for the third time this season, scoring a 78 to finish third. His score of 78 was three shots off the leader.
- Pablo Artero and Ryan Vincent were right behind Kendall, as each shot a 79, which tied for fourth on the day.
- Jon Dumais picked up a sixth-place finish after shooting an 80 to complete Wentworth's scoring golfers.
- Dan Clapp also competed for the Black & Gold, shooting a 92 to tie for 15th.
