McGovern Earns CCC Goalie of the Week Honors
Sophomore posts 37-save outing in 5-1 win over Curry to earn CCC weekly honors
BEVERLY, Mass. – After earning the Leopards' first win over Curry in over two years, sophomore Jack McGovern (Ancaster, Ont.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's ice hockey team garnered Commonwealth Coast Conference Goalie of the Week honors. The award is for games played November 27-December 3.
McGovern stopped all ten shots he faced in relief against the Colonels on December 1 before starting against Curry the following day. The sophomore dominated the Colonels, turning 37 of their 38 shots aside, to give Wentworth their first win over Curry since the 2020 CCC Tournament. McGovern rocked a 1.00 goals-against-average and a .974 save percentage.
The Black & Gold are 4-7 this season, 2-6 in conference play, and travel to Johnson & Wales on Saturday.
