Kolovos Captures CNE Rookie of the Week Honor
George Kolovos grabs first-ever CNE honor after three-point outing against nationally-recognized Wilkes; rookie scored second overtime winner of the season
BEVERLY, Mass. – After an impressive outing over then-nationally ranked Wilkes at the Comfort Inn Complex Winter Classic, George Kolovos of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's ice hockey team was named the Conference of New England Rookie of the Week. The award, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon, is for games played between January 6 - 12.
Kolovos factored into each of the Leopards' three goals in a 3-2 overtime win over the then-No. 10-ranked Colonels, rippling in two goals including the overtime winner. His overtime winner was his second of the season.
On the season, the rookie leads the Black & Gold in points (13), goals (7), game-winning goals (3), and +/- (+10). Kolovos's three game-winning goals tie for the league lead while his seven goals lead all rookies.
Wentworth (5-8-2) hosts #10 Endicott in CNE action Friday night.
