Men’s Ice Hockey Stays Alive in CNE Playoff Race, Rallies Past Nichols
Down 3-2 in the third, Leopards score two straight to fend off Bison, 4-3; Ethan Lim notches game-winning goal

BURRIVILLE, R.I. – Two third period goals led an impressive rally for the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's ice hockey team, who came back to best the Nichols Bison 4-3 in Conference of New England action Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Black & Gold improve to 7-15-2 overall and 5-11-1 in CNE play. The Bison slip to 9-12-3 overall (5-9-3 CNE). Each team has one regular season contest remaining.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Nichols took a 1-0 lead just under ten minutes into the opening frame as Tristan Kimmen peeled off the end boards and ripped a shot to the twine. The Bison doubled their lead just 1:54 later as Aaron Hamel tipped home a shot from the point.
- The Leopards sliced the deficit in half at the 13:59 mark as Mighton Johnson sank a backhander across the crease and into the net.
- The Bison took a 3-1 lead at the 8:04 mark of the second period when Nathan Carl rippled twine on a tic-tac-toe play on the powerplay. However, the Leopards cut the deficit back to one with 2:31 left in the frame as Ian Worthley deked home a goal on a penalty shot.
- The Leopards knotted the score at three aside 3:01 into the third frame as a high rising shot from Nicholas Ramm trickled to the back of the goal. Wentworth gained a 4-3 lead 5:14 later as Ethan Lim intercepted a breakout pass and fired one home.
- Jack McGovern made 35 saves to preserve the win for the Leopards, who were outshot by the Bison 38-18. Liam Choquette made 14 saves between the pipes for the Bison.
SERIES NOTES:
- Wentworth takes the season series, 2-1.
