BEVERLY, Mass. – Five student-athletes posted multi-goal outings, including freshman Colin Ocampo (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.), as the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team (3-6) kicked off Commonwealth Coast Conference play against Endicott (4-4). The Gulls took the game by a 20-4 score.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Gulls found the twine eight-straight times to open the game, with two of the goals coming from graduate student Jack Damon (Portsmouth, R.I.). At the 1:30 mark of the first quarter, the Leopards broke the scoreboard as a goal by senior Liam Carroll (Brookfield, Conn.) narrowed the deficit to 8-1 by the conclusion of the first quarter.
  • Endicott rattled off five unanswered in the second quarter, with two coming from senior Domenic Russo (Northborough, Mass.) to take a 13-1 advantage into the break.
  • The Gulls began the third quarter scoring the first four goals until a tally by junior Logan Maklan (Boca Raton, Fla.) with the man-advantage at the 1:27 mark stopped the Gulls' run, marking a 17-2 score.
  • After a Gulls' tally at both the end of the third and beginning of the fourth quarter, Wentworth found the back of the net on an Ocampo score, marking a 19-3 score. After a Gulls' tally, Ocampo scored once more with 1:57 remaining in the contest to mark a 20-4 score.
  • Junior Connor Charron (Tewksbury, Mass.) went 12-27 on faceoffs, collecting six ground balls. Sophomore Ryan Kalberer (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) made 17 saves before sophomore Tom Gardner (West Windsor, N.J.) made five in relief.
