BEVERLY, Mass. – After a lockdown performance between the pipes in an 18-4 win over Keene State, junior Tom Gardner (West Windsor, N.J.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team earned recognition by the Commonwealth Coast Conference Monday afternoon. The goalkeeper was tabbed Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts, with the award being for games played February 19-25.

Gardner recorded a career-high 20 saves on the Owls' 24 total shots, tallying an 83.3 save percentage. The junior also scavenged eight ground balls around the crease, good for a tie of the game's highest mark.

The Black & Gold are 1-1 this season and host Sage Wednesday evening.
