BOSTON, Mass. – A 6-1 run in the third quarter helped the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team (7-2) to their fourth straight win, coming by way of a 13-4 score over the Manhattanville Valiants (4-5) on a rainy Sweeney Field Saturday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Wentworth struck first, six minutes into the opening frame, as senior Drew Bouley (Gloucester, Mass.) found the back of the net. The Valiants matched the score at the 4:49 mark before freshman Brendan Kroll (Wakefield, R.I.) and junior Kobi Buffa (Craryville, N.Y.) scored within a minute of one another to give the hosts a 3-1 lead.
  • Graduate student Michael Swift (New Rochelle, N.Y.) opened the score in the second quarter, cutting the deficit to 3-2 at the 6:58 mark, before Manhattanville knotted the score just 37 seconds later. However, Kroll and sophomore Tyler Longo (Kingston, N.Y.) gave the hosts a 5-3 advantage within a 3:10 span.
  • Wentworth outpaced Manhattanville 6-1 in the third quarter, with six straight goals, including two from Bouley within 54 seconds of one another, to take an 11-4 lead. Sophomore Colin Ocampo (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.) began a 2-0 run for the Leopards at the 12:35 mark of the fourth quarter, giving the hosts a decisive 13-4 win.
  • Bouley and Longo each tallied five points for the Leopards while junior Tom Gardner (West Windsor, N.J.) made eight saves in goal. Senior Connor Charron (Tewksbury, Mass.) went 15-for-21 at the X with ten ground balls.
