Men's Lacrosse Pulls Away from Plymouth State
Leopards outscore the Panthers, 6-2, over the final 18:21 in a 12-8 win; Kobi Buffa paces the offense with three goals and two assists

BOSTON, Mass. – Kobi Buffa scored three goals and added two assists and Bendan Kroll found the back of the net three times as the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team outscored Plymouth State, 6-2, over the final 18:21 of the contest in a 12-8 victory Saturday afternoon on Sweeney Field.
Winners of three straight, the Leopards improve to 6-2, while the Panthers fall to 3-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Plymouth State's Aiden Renner scored 1:39 to give the visitors an early lead before goals from Buffa and Jared Hiller scored 2:51 apart put Wentworth on top, 2-1. Renner tallied a man-up goal with 1:10 left to even the score at 2-all after one quarter.
- Renner gave the Panthers a 3-2 lead just 13 seconds into the second quarter, however, goals from Erik Vogt, Drew Bouley, and Buffa in a span of 2:02 put the Leopards back on top, 5-3. Plymouth State's Crosby Fay used a goal with 67 seconds left in the first half to even the score at 5-all at the break.
- Fay put the Panthers on top, 6-5, with his third marker at 11:05 of the contest. Boden Landers countered with a goal at 8:27 to even the score at 6-all and Kroll tallied twice, including a man-up goal, in a span of 1:08, giving the Black & Gold an 8-6 lead.
- Just 35 seconds into the fourth quarter, Gabe Cobham put the hosts ahead, 9-6, however, just six seconds later Fay scored to bring Plymouth State back within a pair. Vogt (8:43), Buffa (3:57) and Kroll (3:36) tallied consecutive goals for Wentworth to extend the lead to 12-7 before Ryan Jones scored late for the Panthers.
- In addition to Buffa and Kroll, Bouley had a goal and four assists and Vogt had two goals and an assist. Trevor Guilmette scooped up five ground balls and caused a pair of turnovers. Tom Gardner made 15 saves between the pipes. Wentworth had a 39-36 shot advantage.
SERIES NOTES:
- Wentworth has won the last two series meetings, both by identical scores.
