Two More Top Three Finishes for Rowing

WORCESTER, Mass. – In the first of two regattas this weekend, the Wentworth Institute of Technology rowing team took to Lake Quinsigamond on Saturday for the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta. Four boats took to the water with three racing in the Men's Varsity Fours race and the other in the Men's Novice Eights race.

The Novice Eight race kicked off the day and saw the Leopards pick up first place, crossing the line with a time of 15:35.402. This time was 38.463 seconds faster than Bowdoin's boat with UMass Lowell (third; 16:56.012), New Hampshire (fourth; 16:56.012), Connecticut College (fifth; 18:51.483), and Mass. Maritime (sixth; 18:56.195).

In the Varsity Four race, Wentworth's "A" boat picked up a bronze medal as the Leopards finished third among 20 boats with a time of 15:49.944. This time was behind Bowdoin's "A" boat (15:26.945) and Middlebury's "A" boat (15:35.376). The Leopards' "B" boat placed seventh, crossing the line in a time of 16:27.332, while the "C" boat, which consisted of Wentworth rowing alumni, finished 11th (16:54.119).

Wentworth heads to New Jersey for the Head of the Passaic Regatta, which will be contested on Sunday.
