WORCESTER, Mass – Competing in its final regional regatta of the year, the Wentworth Institute of Technology rowing team advanced to the finals in both of its races at the New England Rowing Championships, where were contested on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester.

Kicking off the day, the Men's Second Varsity Four boat placed fifth in its time trial with a time of 5:58.537, which beat out Middlebury (6:00.976), Vermont (6:07.416), and Mass. Maritime (6:24.407). As one of the top six boats in the time trials, the Leopards advanced to the grand final where they placed sixth, crossing the line with a time of 7:42.484.

The Varsity Four boat placed third in its time trial with a time of 5:31.143, which was behind Bowdoin (5:20.665) and UMass Lowell (5:26.997) and was ahead of Vermont (5:33.256), Amherst (5:37.720), and Maine (5:42.125) to earn the top-six finish. As one of the top six boats in the time trial, the Leopards advanced to the grand final where they placed third (7:10.503, finishing behind Bowdoin (6:57.598) and UMass Lowell (7:08.853).

Wentworth wraps up the 2018-2019 season at the Dad Vail Regatta next weekend.
