Martins, Niles Earn All-CCC Honors

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior forward Noah Martins (Dartmouth, Mass.) and sophomore defender Noah Niles (Saco, Maine) were each named to the 2018 Commonwealth Coast Conference Men's Soccer All-Conference Team. Both student-athletes earned third team honors as the conference announced its all-conference teams and major award winners on Friday evening.

Martins wraps up his career with his third straight All-CCC nod, having been named to the first team in 2016 and to the third team as a junior. He led the team in goals (seven) and points (17) while his three assists tied him for the lead among his teammates. Two of his goals were game-winning tallies and came in a 1-0 win at Lesley on September 8 and in a 1-0 win at Roger Williams on October 19. Starting all 76 games in which he played during his career, Martins finished with 38 goals and 20 assists for 96 points. He ranks second on Wentworth's all-time list in goals, points, and games started, third in games played, and ranks fifth in both assists and game-winning goals.

Niles earns his first all-conference selection after being a stalwart on defense for the Black & Gold this season. Wentworth held its opponents to one or fewer goals on eight occasions, including posting five shutouts. In a 2-0 win at Maine-Farmington, he helped the Leopards not allow a shot on goal. Niles also picked up an assist in a 4-2 loss at UMass Boston on September 13. In 36 career games – all starts – he has helped his team hold opponents scoreless nine times and also has a pair of assists.

Wentworth finished the season with a 6-11-1 record.
