Men's Soccer Battles Bridgewater State to 1-1 Draw
Leopards, Bears each score in first half; Younes Henniche scores first collegiate goal

BOSTON, Mass. – Each team scored a goal in the first half and defense prevailed in the second half as the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's soccer team played Bridgewater State to a 1-1 tie Saturday afternoon at Sweeney Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Bridgewater State had a pair of corner kicks in a span of a minute and a half with shot attempts on each going wide. Sandwiched in between those attempts was a shot on net which was saved by Noah Lawless.
- Wentworth's first shot attempt of the game gave the hosts a 1-0 lead as Youness Henniche scored his first collegiate goal. Henniche gained possession off a turnover and took a shot from the top center of the box that found the upper left corner.
- The Bears applied pressure, putting three shots on net, all of which were saved by Lawless. Wentworth had a shot attempt saved by Lukas Ekmanis in the 31st minute. With just under 10 minutes left in the half, a foul was called on Wentworth. Nicolas Mattias took the free kick that was punched out by Lawless, however, Hector Bucio headed the rebound inside the right post.
- Both teams had chances in the second half, including when a Bridgewater shot off a corner kick went just wide of the mark. Vinny Dentrone had a shot saved by Ekmanis in the 79th minute.
- Lawless turned aside eight shots, while Ekmanis made four saves. Bridgewater State had a 17-15 shot advantage and a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.
ALL-TIME SERIES:
- Today was the fifth all-time meeting between the two teams. Wentworth holds a 2-1-1 series advantage.
