UNE Tops Men's Soccer
Nor'Easters break a 1-1 tie with a goal in the 54th minute for a 2-1 win; Younes Henniche scores for the Leopards

BOSTON, Mass. – A pair of goals from Bruno Correia – including the game winner in the 54th minute – as the University of New England men's soccer team defeated Wentworth Institute of Technology, 2-1, in Conference of New England play Tuesday afternoon.
With the win the Nor'Easters improve to 5-6-3 overall and 2-3 in CNE play while the Leopards fall to 6-7-2 (2-3).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- While Wentworth carried play early on, the Leopards managed just two shot attempts early on, coming 53 seconds apart. Down the other end, UNE had a pair of attempts when a shot by Nick Reffel was blocked and Correia put the rebound high.
- In the 32nd minute, Correia put a shot on net that was saved by Noah Lawless, and, off a turnover at the 35:53 mark, Correia beat Lawless to the left side to give the Nor'Easters a 1-0 lead.
- Wentworth got the equalizer just 3:57 into the second half as Michael Liquori sent a pass to Younes Henniche at the top of the box. Henniche sent a shot from the right side inside the left post.
- The Leopards nearly took the lead in the 58th minute as Alex Burnham sent a corner kick towards the box where Zachary Redondo headed the ball towards the net. Ollie Hammond came up with the save, keeping the score knotted at 1-all.
- Correia took a one-touch pass from Reffel at the top of the box and beat Lawless inside the right post, giving UNE a 2-1 lead with 26:01 left.
- Despite putting three shots on net, Hammond stepped up with three saves, keeping his team ahead, 2-1. The Leopards had a pair of chances late, however, both attempts went wide of the mark.
- Hammond made four saves for the Nor'Easters while Lawless made one for the Black & Gold. Wentworth had a 12-8 shot advantage, while UNE had a 2-1 edge in corner kicks.

- Today marked the 26th all-time meeting between the two teams. Wentworth holds an 18-4-4 series advantage
