Men's Tennis Closes out Regular Season with Win over Suffolk
Leopards pick up their second straight win, 7-2, over the Rams with Daniel Gallegos providing the match-clinching point

BELMONT, Mass. – Building off a 2-1 lead after doubles play, the Wentworth Institute of Technology team won five of six singles matches to take a 7-2 win over Suffolk in the regular-season finale for both teams.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Freshmen Eric Doraci (Natick, Mass.) and Thomas Kot (Farmington, Conn.) gave Wentworth a 1-0 lead with an 8-4 win over junior Mikhail Riley and freshman Zach Dobbs (Bozeman, Mont.) at No. 3 doubles. Suffolk evened the match when senior Hasan Esrawi (Braintree, Mass.) teamed with freshman Daniel Dayn (Natick, Mass.) for an 8-4 win at No. 2 over senior Kevin Shields (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and sophomore Pranav Marwaha (Nashua, N.H.).
- The Leopards reclaimed the lead as the No. 1 tandem of junior Daniel Gallegos (Monterrey, Mexico) and freshman Rene Rodriguez (Doral, Fla.) were 8-3 winners over freshman Mehdi Mered (Algeria, Tiemcen) and senior Diego Hernandez-Pons (Mexico City, Mexico).
- Senior Owen Conlon (Cataumet, Mass.) gave the Leopards a 3-1 lead with a 6-4, 6-4 win over sophomore Milind Kulkarni (Forest Hills, N.Y.) at No. 6 singles before Rodriguez was a 6-1, 6-0 winner over Esrawi, at No. 3. Gallegos clinched the match for the Black & Gold, as he bested Mered, 6-2, 6-1.
- Marwaha was a 6-4, 6-1 winner over Dayn at No. 2, while Doraci picked up a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Hernandez-Pons at No. 4. Reilly defeated freshman James Weete, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 5.

- Seeded fifth, Wentworth will travel to fourth-seeded Endicott for the opening round of the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament on Saturday.
