Men's Tennis Shuts Out King's for Second Straight Win

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's tennis team picked up its second straight win as the Leopards swept King's (Pa.), 7-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Junior Pranav Marwaha (Nashua, N.H.) teamed with sophomore Thomas Kot (Farmington, Conn.) to give Wentworth a 1-0 lead with an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles. Sophomore Eric Doraci (Natick, Mass.) and freshman Manas Arya (Hessen Germany) teamed up for an 8-2 win at No. 2. Completing the sweep with an 8-6 win at No. 1 were senior Daniel Gallegos (Monterrey, Mexico) and sophomore Rene Rodriguez (Doral, Fla.)
  • Sophomore James Weete (Dover, N.H.) gave the Leopards a 4-0 lead with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 5 before Doraci clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4.
  • Junior Justin Whalen (Weymouth, Mass.) won, 6-1, 6-0, at No.6, and Arya was a 6-2, 6-1 winner at No. 3.
  • Gallegos (No. 1) and Rodriguez (No. 2) each had their singles matches halted due to inclement weather. Both had leads int eh second set after losing the first set.
