DUDLEY, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's tennis team opened Commonwealth Coast Conference play on Saturday with a 9-0 loss to Nichols College.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In doubles play, senior Daniel Gallegos (Monterrey, Mexico) and sophomore Rene Rodriguez (Doral, Fla.) were defeated at No. 2, 8-1. No. 3 saw juniors Pranav Marwaha (Nashua, N.H.) and Niko Rosich (Chicago, Ill.) fall by an identical 8-1 score. No. 1 was the closest of the three flights with sophomore Erica Doraci (Natick, Mass.) and freshman Manas Arya (Hessen, Germany) falling, 8-3.
- Marwaha was defeated at No. 4 and Rodrigues was defeated at No. 2, which clinched the match for the Bison.
- Arya and Rosich both went to three sets at No. 3 and No. 6, respectively.
