Santos Leads Indoor Track & Field in Record-Setting Weekend

BOSTON, Mass. – Competing in a pair of meets this weekend, the Wentworth Institute of Technology indoor track team saw 10 records fall, with freshman Laci Santos (Medway, Mass.) breaking five of them.

Santos did her damage while competing in the pentathlon at the Tufts Branwen Smith-King Invitational. Finishing fifth, Santos set a program record with 2,514 points while setting records in the 60M hurdles, high jump, shot put, and long jump.

Junior Eli Sleasman (Albany, N.Y.) also competed at Tufts, where he placed third in the heptathlon with a program record 3,720 points and joined a plethora of Leopards who had qualified last weekend for the New England Championships.

An additional four records were broken on Saturday as the Leopards competed at the Lion-Mule Dual Invitational, held at Wheaton College.
