Indoor Track Puts Forth Impressive Showing at Frozen 8 Championship
The Leopards post-four first-place finishes and break four program records at the inaugural event
BOSTON, Mass. – Competing at the inaugural Frozen 8 Indoor Track & Field Championships, the Wentworth Institute of Technology indoor track team had a successful Sunday with four first-place finishes and four program records broken.
As a team, the men placed third with 85 points while the women saw a seventh-place finish with 16 points, just one point out of sixth place.
The Wentworth men scored 34 of its 85 points in the pole vault with a first-place finish from junior Eli Sleasman (Albany, N.Y.) and a second-place finish from sophomore Nate Muller (Concord, N.H.) and in the shot put with a first-place finish from senior Jared Pierce (Biddeford, Maine), a fourth-place finish from junior Jay Joseph (Springfield, Mass.) and a fifth-place finish from junior Tyler Klockars (Phillipston, Mass.). Pierce was also a winner in the weight throw and freshman Fabrice Fouron (Easton, Mass.) won the triple jump.
