Field Events Power Outdoor Track to Fourth-Place Finish at Tufts Snowflake Invitational
Leopards pick up 55.5 of their 69.5 points in the field events - including a pair of first-place finishes - in their second meet of the season
MEDFORD, Mass. – Against a deep and talented field, the Wentworth Institute of Technology outdoor track and field team had an impressive showing at the Tufts Snowflake Invitational. On the men's side of the ledger, the Leopards placed fourth out of 20 scoring teams with a score of 69.5 points. The Black & Gold accumulated 55.5 of their points in field events, with senior Jared Pierce (Biddeford, Maine) taking first place in the discus and junior Eli Sleasman (Albany, N.Y.) placing first in the pole vault. In both of those events, program records were broken. For the men, a total of three new program marks were set, while the Wentworth women also set three program records.
