Men's Indoor Track Places Fifth at Lyon Invitational
Leopards use three top-three finishes to help carry them to 30 points
NORTON, Mass. – Three top three finishes helped the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's indoor track team finish fifth at the Lyon Invitational, which was run Saturday on the campus of Wheaton College.
Freshmen Jack Newton (Gloucester, Mass.) and Gabe Silva (Wareham, Mass.) were part of the Leopards' success. Newton placed second in the mile (4:41.29), while Silva was third in the 400M (53.94). The two also were part of the 4X400M relay team which earned third (3:40.56).
Fourteen of Wentworth's 30 points came in the mile. In addition to Newton, senior Will Carpenter (Salisbury, Vt.) was fourth (5:00.96) and freshman Sean Giuliano (Franklin, Mass.) was fifth (5:22.33).
