Record Breaking Day for Newton, Outdoor Track & Field
Freshman Jack Newton set program records in the 3000M Steeplechase (16:19.80) and 400M Hurdles (1:01.02)

WENHAM, Mass. – Freshman Jack Newton (Gloucester, Mass.) set a pair of program records as the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's outdoor track & field team competed at the Jonathan Tyman Invitational at Gordon College.
Newton set a program mark in the 3000M Steeplechase where he finished third (10:10.09) and added another with a 1:01.02 (second place) finish in the 400M hurdles. Freshman Jon Savage (Hampton, N.H.) set a program record in the 5000M when he crossed the line in a time of 16:19.80, good for a second-place finish).
