Moriarty Grabs First in Pole Vault at Wheaton Pre-Post Season Invitational
Owen Moriarty highlighted eight top five finishes in the final meet before championship season

NORTON, Mass. – In the final meet before championship season begins, the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's indoor track & field team received eight top five finishes – including a first place finish – as the Leopards competed at the Wheaton Pre-Post Season Qualifier.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Wentworth's best performance of the day came in the pole vault where Owen Moriarty took home first place with a top mark of 4.40M.
- In the mile, Joey Cotta placed fifth with a time of 4:39.26.
- The 60M hurdles saw Oliver Bishop place fourth with a time of 8.70M. Bishop was also second in the triple jump (12.78M).
- The 4X400M relay squad of Cotta, Ryan Abbotoni, Scott Stehlik, and Jack Newton placed third (3:42.54).
- Domenic Simpri was a third-place finisher in the high jump, clearing 1.85M as his top height.
- The shot put saw the Leopards place two in the top five with Joe Packowski finishing fourth (13.11M) and Julian Sacca fifth (12.94M).

- Selected student-athletes will compete at the Division III New England Championships next weekend.
