Ballard Notches Two First-Place Finishes at Jonathan Tymann Invitational
Ryan Ballard wins the 800M and 3000M steeplechase as part of five first-place finishes for the Leopards

WENHAM, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's outdoor track & field team had a solid performance at the Jonathan Tymann Invitational on Saturday. Five first-place finishes helped buoy the Leopards to their strong outcome.
This meet was a non-scoring meet.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Ryan Ballard picked up two of Wentworth's five first-place finishes as he won the 800M (2:05.31) and the 3000M steeplechase (10:04.41), earning Division III New England qualification in the process.
- Mark Murphy took home gold in the 1500M (4:18.88), Nathaniel Smith was a winner in the high jump (1.80M), and Nate Muller won the pole vault (4.25M).
- Teddy Doyle joined Ballard with a top-three finish in the steeplechase, finishing with a time of 10:34.97.
- Gabe Silva placed third in both the 100M (11.53) and 200M (23.42). He was part of the 4X100M relay team, along with Will Stewart, Ryan Abbotoni, and Scott Stehlik, that finished third (44.24).
- Stehlik placed second in the 200M (23.07), while Smith (53.95) and Matt Murphy (54.23) were fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 400M.
- In addition to Ballard winning the 800M, Ezra Blasko was second (2:06.37), Joey Cotta placed third (2:06.37), and Jack Newton was fifth (2:07.88).
- Patrick Mahlert took home third in the 100M hurdles (17.04).
- Rueben Sistachs placed fourth in the long jump (5.56M).
- Julian Sacca earned second in the shot put (12.55M) and third in the discus (30.44M).
- Joe Packowski had a pair of third-place finishes in the shot put (12.24M) and the javelin (43.32M).
- Jake Mucci was second in the discus (32.34M).
