Bishop Takes Second in the Decathlon at the Silfen Invitational
Oliver Bishop finished among the top five in seven of 10 events to earn a second-place finish, which included winning the 110M hurdles

WENHAM, Mass. – Oliver Bishop placed second in the decathlon as the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's outdoor track & field team competed at the Silfen Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
This meet was a non-scoring meet.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Bishop scored a program-record 5,328 points across the 10 events. He had seven finishes in the top five, including winning the 110M hurdles with a time of 15.75. He was second in the 100M (11.64) and 1500M (4:50.39), third in the 400M (53.54) and long jump (1.72M), while finishing fourth in both the high jump (1.72M) and pole vault (3.05M).
- Owen Moriarty also competed in the decathlon, finishing seventh (4,371 points). He had a pair of second-place finishes in the high jump (1.78M) and pole vault (3.65M) and was third in the 110M hurdles.
- Gabe Silva narrowly broke his own program record in the 100M, finishing sixth with a time of 11.23. Jack Newton also broke a program record with a time of 58.54 in the 400M hurdles which placed him second.
- Ryan Ballard took home first in the 800M with a time of 2:00.95.
- Nate Muller was second in the pole vault (4.40M)
- Nathaniel Smith placed fourth in the high jump (1.75M)
- Joe Packowski earned a third-place finish in the javelin (46.03M)
- Julian Sacca placed fourth in the shot out (13.03M)
- Wentworth's 4X800M relay team of Mark Murphy, Joey Cotta, Dylan Brilliant, and Ezra Blasko won the event with a time of 8:47.25.
- The 4X400M team of Aditya Aditya, Matt Murphy, Smith, and Newton picked up a fourth-place finish for the Leopards with a time of 3:36.20
- The Black & Gold's 4X100M relay team of Silva, Sincere Duffaut, Ryan Abbotoni, Scott Stehlik earned a fifth-place finish with a time of 3:36.20.
