Leopards Sweep Pride to Improve to 3-1

BOSTON, Mass. – The Wentworth men's volleyball team improved to 3-1 on the young season as the Leopards needed less than an hour to defeat first-year Regis, 3-0.

 

The Leopards were in control from the opening serve, taking the first game, 30-15, before holding the Pride to single digits in the second game with a 30-9 win.  Wentworth closed out the match in the third game by hitting .722 and winning, 30-13.

 

Senior Chuck Gregory (New Bedford, Mass.), junior Derek Portugal (Barrington, R.I.), and junior Lowell Jesmer (Rochester, N.Y.) paced the offense with eight, seven, and six kills.  Jesmer and Portugal each had three aces as well.  Freshman Tyler Moriarty (Wilbraham, Mass.) had 39 assists.

 

Wentworth set a new program record with a .691 hitting percentage over the three games.  The Leopards committed just four attack errors in the match.
