MIT Hands Wentworth Second Straight Loss
Thirteenth-ranked Engineers take advantage of Leopard errors in 3-0 win
BOSTON, Mass. – Thirteenth-ranked MIT handed the Wentworth men's volleyball team its second straight loss as the Engineers took a 3-0 decision from the Leopards in an NECVA New England contest.
MIT took the first two games by 30-15 and 30-16 scores before closing out the match in the third game with a 30-22 win. The Engineers served 19 aces over the three games and took advantage of 11 Wentworth service errors.
Junior Derek Portugal (Barrington, R.I.) had six kills and seven digs in the loss, while classmate Lowell Jesmer (Rochester, N.Y.) had five kills and six blocks. Senior Tom Ceurvels (Weymouth, Mass.) and junior Marc Larue (Lincoln, R.I.) had 16 and 11 digs, respectively.
