Wentworth Wins Second Straight, Defeating Elms, 3-0

BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman Tyler Moriarty (Wilbraham, Mass.) had eight kills on nine attack attempts, had 38 assists, and four digs to pace the Wentworth men's volleyball team to its second straight win, a 3-0 triumph over Elms.

 

The Leopards took a 30-22 victory in game one, and, after posting their best hitting performance of the match in the second game (.294) took a 2-0 lead with a 30-18 win.  The visiting Blazers would put up a battle in a back-and-forth third game, but Wentworth would take the win with a 30-28 win.

 

Besides Moriarty, junior Lowell Jesmer (Rochester, N.Y.) hit .500, including nine kills, and had three blocks, while junior Derek Portugal (Barrington, R.I.) had 11 kills, 13 digs, and three aces.  Senior Tom Ceurvels (Weymouth, Mass.) had nine kills and 12 digs in a winning effort.
