Klembczyk Named GNAC Rookie and Defensive Player of the Week

BOSTON, Mass. – After helping the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team to a 2-1 week, freshman libero Peter Klembczyk (Penfield, N.Y.) has earned both rookie and defensive player of the week honors from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference. The award includes matches played from February 12-18.

Klembczyk averaged 3.50 digs per set, which included a career-high 25 in a 3-1, come-from-behind victory over Johnson & Wales. He also recorded 10 digs in a 3-0 win over St. Joseph's (Long Island). Wentworth's lone setback of the week came at the hands of top-ranked Springfield as the 13th-ranked Leopards were bested by the top-ranked Pride.

In 13 matches to date (42 sets), Klembczyk is averaging 2.21 digs per set for the 9-4 (2-1 GNAC) Leopards who open a four-match week at home on Wednesday (February 21) against Lasell.
