GNAC Bestows Weekly Honors on Oshman, Klembczyk

BOSTON, Mass. – After posting a 3-1 record at the Alvernia Invitational, a pair of Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball players have been honored by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference with weekly awards. Senior Ollie Oshman (Pennington, N.J.) has been named the league's offensive player of the week while freshman Peter Klembczyk (Penfield, N.Y.) has been named, for the second time this season, both the GNAC Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week. The duo was honored for matches played from March 5-11.

Oshman averaged 2.38 kills and 1.31 blocks per set while hitting .510 in four matches. In a 3-0 win over Alvernia, Oshman hit .846 as he made just one error on 13 swings (12-1-13) while recording three blocks and had seven kills and eight blocks in a 3-0 win over Wells. He also had three blocks in a 3-1 over Wilson and in a 3-0 loss to Lancaster Bible. On the season, Oshman is averaging 2.10 kills and 1.30 blocks per set while hitting .492.

Klembczyk averaged 3.08 digs per set in a 3-1 week for the Black & Gold with 13 of his digs coming in a 3-0 win over Wells. He also had eight digs apiece in wins over Wilson and Alvernia and in a loss to Lancaster Bible. On the season he is averaging 2.34 digs per set.

Wentworth (16-7) is at Emmanuel on Saturday for a tri-match with the Saints and Emerson.
