Men's Volleyball Sweeps GNAC Awards for Second Straight Week

BOSTON, Mass. – After the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team swept a pair of Great Northeast Athletic Conference matches on Saturday, two of its members have been honored by the GNAC as senior Collin Ritter (Feeding Hills, Mass.) has been named the league's offensive player of the week while freshman Peter Klembczyk (Penfield, N.Y.) took home both defensive player of the week and rookie of the week honors. The honors come for matches played from March 12-18.

Ritter picks up his second GNAC Offensive Player of the Week award after averaging 3.00 kills, 3.50 assists, 1.67 blocks, and 1.33 digs per set while hitting .517. He recorded eight kills and hit .583 (8-1-12) in a 3-0 win over Emerson and followed that up with 10 kills, 15 assists, six digs, and seven blocks in a 3-0 win over Emmanuel. On the season he is averaging 2.63 kills, 5.24 assists, 1.84, and 0.99 blocks per set while hitting .359.

For the second week in a row and third time this season, Klembczyk takes home defensive player of the week and rookie of the week honors as he averaged 3.33 digs per set. Klembczyk had 10 digs apiece in 3-0 wins over Emerson and Emmanuel. On the season he is averaging 2.42 digs per set.

Wentworth (18-7, 8-1 GNAC) is at Rivier on Saturday for a tri-match with the Raiders and Regis.
