Love, Carlson, Oshman Sweep GNAC Men's Volleyball Weekly Awards

Boston, Mass. – Following its season-opening weekend, the Wentworth men's volleyball team swept the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly awards as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Senior Ryan Love (Gaithersburg, Md.) earned Offensive Player of the Week, sophomore Ian Carlson (Parker, Colo.), was named Defensive Player of the Week, and freshman Hunter Oshman (Pennington, N.J.) garnered Rookie of the Week honors. The accolade was awarded to the three Leopards after four matches played at the SUNY Poly Wildcat Invitational.

Love led the Leopard offensive with 37 kills and 2.85 kills per set in the 3-1 week for the Black and Gold. He led the Leopard triumph over nationally ranked Wells with 13 kills, and finished day one of the Wildcat Invite with 10 kills and .500 hitting (10K-1E-18TA) against Nazareth. Love ended the weekend with 11 kills, finishing with double-digit kills in three of four matches played over the opening weekend while also averaging 1.92 digs per set.

Carlson was a force on defense for the Leopards, averaging 1.00 blocks per set with 14 total. In the Leopards' victory over the Express, he jumped up for seven blocks, including three solos, and followed up with two assisted blocks in a sweep over Nazareth. He ended the week with five blocks against St. John Fisher.

Oshman averaged 2.58 kills per set and 1.33 digs per set in his first weekend in a Leopard uniform. His first match, which played out to be Wentworth's banner performance against #7 Wells, saw him hit .333 with 12 kills alongside eight digs. He followed up with 11 kills and .450 hitting, in WIT's 3-0 sweep over Nazareth.

Wentworth hosts MIT in its home opener on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
