Love, Klembczyk Named GNAC Players of the Week

Boston, Mass. – For the second week in a row, senior Ryan Love (Gaithersburg, Md.) has been named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Offensive Player of the Week as announced on Monday afternoon by the league office. Junior Peter Klembczyk (Penfield, N.Y.) also earned GNAC Defensive Player of the Week, marking the fifth weekly award in two weeks for the Leopards this season.

The #15 Leopards went 3-0 last week, highlighted by a straight sweep of MIT, which has been receiving votes in all three American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) polls.

In two matches played for WIT, Love averaged 4.50 kills per set for 27 total. He smashed 16 kills in the Leopards' big sweep over MIT, their first three-set win over the Engineers in program history, and later notched 11 kills in Wentworth's win over Nichols. He also hit .380 for the week, including .444 hitting in the win against MIT with 16 kills and four errors on 27 swings. Love ranks first among GNAC stat leaders in kills per set with 3.37.

Klembczyk averaged 2.33 digs per set in two matches played for Wentworth, which were both sweeps for the Black & Gold. He collected 14 digs overall, including nine versus MIT. Klembczyk's 62 digs leads the Leopard defense and his 2.32 digs per set ranks third in the conference.
