Boston, Mass. – After hitting .400 or better in two matches played for the #13 Wentworth men's volleyball team, freshman Alex McLane (Columbus, Ohio) earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.

The weekly honor is the first for McLane and sixth overall for the ranked Leopards.

McLane averaged 4.20 kills per set in a 1-1 week for Wentworth, starting with a team-high 10 kills and .474 hitting against #14 Endicott in his first match against a nationally-ranked opponent. The freshman outside hitter continued his standout performance in Wentworth's final game of the week, putting down 11 kills while hitting .400 in the Leopards' 3-0 sweep over Illinois Tech.

The Leopards resume non-conference action on Wednesday evening at Eastern Nazarene. First serve is slated for 7:00 p.m.
