Men's Volleyball Serves Colby-Sawyer 3-0 GNAC Sweep
Leopards swing into 17 aces as a team en route to GNAC victory.

Boston, Mass. – Behind 17 aces and .453 hitting as a team, the Wentworth men's volleyball team swept Colby-Sawyer in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Wednesday night inside Tansey Gymnasium,

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wentworth opened the conference match hitting a booming .750 in the first set, as five aces from Drew Potter (Towson, Md.) led the Leopards to a 12-1 lead early on. Wentworth built a 21-5 lead on the heels of an 8-1 run and a combined three aces from Zack Anglen (Carmel, Ind.) and Alex McLane (Columbus, Ohio), and closed the set with a 4-2 spurt.
- The beginning stages of the middle set proved closer than the first, as Colby-Sawyer hung on due to several Wentworth service and attack errors. Giovani Dos Reis registered the Chargers' first kill of the set to trail by four, 11-7, before Wentworth turned a 5-0 run with three consecutive aces from Tristan McDonough (Shelton, Conn.) to build a substantial lead that held throughout the set's remainder.
- The Leopards swept the Chargers with small and efficient runs in the last set, and used an .086 sideout percentage to earn their fifth conference victory.
NOTES
- Leopards hit above .400 for fifth time this season and rank seventh in Division III with .302 hitting for the year
- Potter's seven aces ranks eighth all-time in program history
- Sottile set a career-high with 16 assists
