Klembczyk, Love, Krzykowski Earn AVCA All-America Honors

BOSTON, Mass. – The list of All-Americans for the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball program has grown by three today as senior libero Peter Klembczyk (Penfield, N.Y.), graduate student Ryan Love (Gaithersburg, Md.), and freshman setter Anthony Krzykowski (Feeding Hills, Mass.) have been named to the 2021 NVA/ACVA All-America Team. Klembczyk was named to the first team, while Love and Krzykowski were second team and honorable mention selections, respectively. All three earned this prestigious honor after being named AVCA All-Region last week.

The 2018 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year, a two-time All-GNAC selection, and a two-time AVCA All-Region selection, Klembczyk has played in 34 sets and is averaging 3.32 digs per set. He had a season-high 24 digs against Lasell on April 3 and matched a career high with six assists in a season-opening win over Lasell. He is presently third in the country in digs per set and on April 10, he became the program's all-time leader in digs. For his career, he has played in 86 matches (290 sets) and, in addition to his program-leading 825 digs, he is also atop the Leopard record book with 2.84 digs per set.

A two-time AVCA All-Region selection, the 2020 GNAC Offensive Player of the Year, and a three-time All-GNAC selection, Love has played in 34 sets, averaging 3.76 kills and 1.85 digs per set while hitting .320. Currently his 3.76 kills per set rank him 14th in Division III. On the season he has recorded a pair of double-doubles, which included a career-high 16 digs against Lasell on April 3. He notched a season-high 20 kills in the Leopards' season-opening win over the Lasers and hit .400 or better on four occasions, including .579 (12-1-19) against Lasell on March 27. In 89 career matches (267 sets), he ranks sixth all-time in program history with 2.93 kills per set, seventh in attack percentage (.280), and eighth in kills (781).

Krzykowski has had an impressive rookie season to date as, in 34 sets, he is averaging 10.76 assists per set, which is good for third nationally in Division III. He notched a career-high 59 assists against Lasell on April 3 and had 40 or more assists three other times, including in a 3-1 win over Springfield on April 10. He also had a career-best three aces against Lasell on April 7 and in that match tied a career high with four blocks while recording a career high 17 digs against Lasell on April 3.

With the selection of these three student-athletes, the Leopards have produced nine AVCA All-Americans since 2016. Three of these nine have earned first team honors.

Ranked 11th in the most recent AVCA Division III Men's Coaches Poll, Wentworth (7-2) earned its third NCAA Division III Tournament berth and will square off against New Jersey City University in a first-round match on Wednesday, April 21, at 5:00 p.m., in Salem, Va.
