LEXINGTON, Ky. – With a sweep over three nationally ranked teams most recently under their belt, the top-ranked Wentworth Institute of Technology earned recognition from the American Volleyball Coaches' Association (AVCA) Tuesday afternoon as senior Jacob LaBouliere (Pipersville, Pa.) claimed Division III Player of the Week honors for the second time this season. The award is for matches played March 4-10.
LaBouliere averaged just under 12 kills per match across the three wins against No. 6-ranked Cal Lutheran, No. 16-ranked UC Santa Cruz, and No. 18-ranked Marymount (Va.). The outside hitter averaged a hitting percentage of .455 and also totaled ten digs and eight blocks over the stretch.
The honor is LaBouliere's fifth all-time weekly accolade from the AVCA.
The top-ranked Black & Gold look to continue their undefeated season Wednesday versus Regis.
