BOSTON, Mass. – In exhibition play Friday evening, the Wentworth Institute of Technology hosted the Dominican Chargers in Tansey Gym. The Leopards came out victorious in straight sets.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The two teams swapped scores in the opening set before the Black & Gold separated themselves with a 15-10 lead. The Leopards pushed the lead to 20-13 and held on for a 25-15 set win.
- The Chargers took a 7-5 lead in the second set before Wentworth rallied, grabbing a 21-11 lead before taking the set, 25-15.
- The two teams traded points for much of the third set before the hosts separated themselves with a 19-10 advantage. The Chargers fought back, but ultimately fell, 25-19.
- Senior Jacob LaBouliere (Pipersville, Pa.) led the offensive attack with nine kills, followed by senior Jacob Waga (East Northport, N.Y.) who recorded five. Waga and graduate student Brandon Dunz (Lake View, N.Y.) each recorded five blocks while junior Josh Milke (Eastampton, N.J.) totaled 21 assists.
SERIES NOTES:
- Today marked the first meeting between the two teams as the Chargers are playing through their inaugural season.
