#10 Men's Volleyball Sweeps Endicott, #9 Hobart at Fenway Volleyball Classic
Leopards sweep Gulls and Statesmen behind balanced attack, push record to 4-1

BOSTON, Mass. – On the opening day of the Fenway Volleyball Classic Saturday, the No. 10-ranked Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team didn't drop a set, sweeping both Endicott (1-3) and No. 9-ranked Hobart (8-1) in a pair of impressive non-conference victories.
MATCH ONE: #10 WENTWORTH 3, ENDICOTT 0
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The two teams swapped scores in the opening frame, working the score to a 9-9 draw before two finishes by Jacob Waga helped Wentworth to a 12-9 lead. Two kills from Mason Andrade played into a 5-0 run for the Leopards later on, stretching their lead to 17-10 before another Andrade kill marked a 20-15 advantage. Despite a battle back by the Gulls, two kills from Waga made the difference in the later going, clinching a 25-22 set win.
- Behind 5-4 in the second set, a finish by Andrade helped the Leopards re-take a lead at 7-5 before a kill by Sam Etter helped raise the lead to 12-10. Endicott clawed back to knot the score at 15-aside before a finish by Matthew Zegowitz claimed a 19-17 edge. Two aces by Ryan Roller pushed the advantage to 23-18 before, after a back-and-forth, a finish by Andrade marked a 25-22 set win.
- The two teams traded points to open the third set before the Gulls grabbed a 10-8 edge. A finish by Etter helped knot the score at 11 aside before two Andrade kills factored in to the Leopards pulling away at 19-15. Four kills from Waga paced the rest of the set, with Wentworth outpacing Endicott to a 25-21 set win.

- The Black & Gold have won six straight matchups over the Gulls.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The two teams swapped scores to open the first frame, with an Andrew Ahn kill marking a 5-5 draw before kills by Andrade and Waga separated the score later on at 14-10. Finishes by Ahn and Conner Foxwell pushed the score to 18-11 before finishes by Ahn, Foxwell, Andrade, and Alem Dubcak helped Wentworth grab a 25-18 set win.
- Kills by Ahn, Foxwell, and Nicolai Bell jumped the Leopards out to a 5-2 lead before the Statesmen later came back to cut the deficit at a 10-8 edge. Wentworth pushed their lead to 13-8 on two Waga kills before two kills from Dubcak marked a 17-12 lead. After Hobart dwindled the deficit at 19-17, the Black & Gold rattled off six straight, featuring two kills from Waga and another from Bell, to take a 25-17 set.
- Wentworth set out to a 7-5 lead in the third set before Hobart rallied back to take edges of their own at 9-7, 11-8, 14-12, and 15-13. From there, kills by Waga and Foxwell gave the Leopards a 16-15 edge before another kill apiece from the duo continued the advantage to 20-16. The Statesmen battled back, closing the gap at 24-22 in the later going, but a Waga kill marked a set win for the Leopards at 25-22.
SERIES NOTES:
- Meeting for the first time ever in a season ago, Wentworth leads the all-time series, 2-0.
