#9 Men's Volleyball Topples Rivier
Leopards sweep Raiders in conference play; Jacob Waga posts match-high nine kills

NASHUA, N.H. – In Great Northeast Athletic Conference play Friday night, the No. 9-ranked Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team toppled the Rivier Raiders in straight sets behind an efficient .382 clip on offense.
The Leopards' seven-match win streak boosts their record to 9-1 and 3-0 in GNAC action. The Raiders slip to 4-4 and 1-1 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Finishes by Conner Foxwell and Jacob Waga gave the Leopards a 5-3 lead early in the first set before two more kills by Waga later extended the advantage to 10-6. Two finishes by Nicolai Bell helped carry the lead to 17-11 before the Leopards later finished the frame on a 7-1 run, taking a 25-14 set win.
- The Raiders took 4-1 and 6-3 leads in the second set before Wentworth rallied to take a one-point lead at 7-6. A finish by Alem Dubcak capped another back-and-forth at 13-11 before two kills by Waga later helped the Leopards separate at 18-15. Two kills by Dubcak and another by Bell pushed the advantage to 22-19 before a finish by Waga helped Wentworth snag a 25-21 set win.
- Two kills by Mason Andrade pushed the Leopards out to a 5-1 lead in the third set before kills by Andrade and Bell marked an 8-4 set. Rivier rallied to take a 12-11 edge and later 14-12 and 16-14 leads just before the Black & Gold rattled off five straight, including two aces by Andrade, to regain a 19-16 lead. Two finishes by Andrew Ahn kickstarted a run to victory for the Leopards who took a 25-20 set win.
SERIES NOTES:
- The Leopards have won eight straight meetings between the two teams.
