#9 Men's Volleyball Grabs Eighth Straight Win versus Regis
Leopards sweep Pride behind 24 combined finishes from Alem Dubcak and Andrew Ahn; Brayden Green facilitates with 34 assists
BOSTON, Mass. – Double-figure kill totals by Alem Dubcak and Andrew Ahn, along with 34 assists by Brayden Green, paced the No. 9-ranked Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team to a sweep over Great Northeast Athletic Conference rival Regis on Wednesday night.
The Black & Gold's eighth straight triumph improves their record to 10-1 and 4-0 in conference action. The Pride slip to 7-4 and 1-2 in GNAC play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Two aces by Dubcak helped the Leopards to a 4-2 lead in the opening frame before the Pride eventually came back to take 6-5 and 7-6 edges. Two finishes by Dubcak and two kills by Ahn pushed Wentworth to a 12-8 lead before four straight points later on extended the margin to 16-9. After Regis closed the gap at 18-13, an Ahn finish sprouted a 4-0 run, pushing the lead to 22-13 before a kill by Dubcak and an ace by Ahn marked a 25-16 set.
- After the Pride grabbed hold of a 4-2 lead in the second set, finishes by Ahn and Conner Foxwell helped Wentworth come back at 5-4 before the Black & Gold later rattled off a 7-1 run to take a 13-6 lead. Two kills by Foxwell continued the lead to 19-11 before the Pride came back with a 9-3 run of their own to close the deficit at 22-20. From there, kills by Dubcak and Matthew Zegowitz helped Wentworth claim a 25-21 set win.
- The Leopards reeled out to a 5-2 lead in the third set before a finish by Ahn marked a 9-6 lead. A finish by Alek Reymond continued the advantage to 12-6 before another strike by Reymond helped start another 7-1 run for the Leopards, extending their lead to 20-10. A finish by Ahn capped the night with a 25-15 set win for the Black & Gold.

- The Leopards are a perfect 21-0 all-time against the Pride.
