Merrimack Sweeps #10 Men's Volleyball
Warriors blank Leopards; Benjamin Moughon notches eight kills

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – In non-conference action Saturday night, the No. 10-ranked Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team (13-3) came up empty against Division I native Merrimack (4-3), being on the other end of a sweep for the first time since 2023.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The two teams swapped scores in the opening of the first set with a finish by Benjamin Moughon marking a 4-4 tie. The Warriors pulled ahead to a 12-9 lead later on before a kills by Ryan Roller and Sam Etter helped cut the deficit at 12-11. A string of three straight kills by Etter gave Wentworth a 16-13 lead before Merrimack later came back and forced a tie at 18 aside. A kill by Moughon marked a 20-20 draw later on, but three straight points for the Warriors helped them claim a 25-21 set win.
- Kills by Roller, Etter, and Moughon marked a similar 4-4 draw in the second set before kills by Moughon and Alem Dubcak helped the Leopards pull away at 10-7 later on. Merrimack grabbed the next six straight, taking a 13-10 lead, before taking another four straight after a Wentworth point to a 17-11 score. Two kills by Conner Foxwell and another by Etter helped the Leopards claw back at 21-17, but the Warriors held on for a 25-20 set win.
- Five kills marked a 5-3 lead for the Black & Gold early in the third set before the Warriors rallied to take an 11-7 lead. The Leopards clawed back to cut the deficit at 12-11 before Merrimack pushed the advantage later on to 19-14. Wentworth marked a 23-18 deficit with back-to-back Moughon kills, but the Warriors would hold on for a 25-19 set win.
SERIES NOTES:
- Tonight marked the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
