#11 Men's Volleyball Downs Nichols in Four Sets
Tied at one set apiece, Leopards grab two straight to earn fourth straight win; Jacob Waga, Andrew Ahn each notch 11 kills

BOSTON, Mass. – A balanced attack on home court guided the No. 11-ranked Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team to a four-set triumph over non-conference foe Nichols (12-12) on Thursday night.
The Leopards extend their win streak to four with the win and now sit at 18-4 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- An ace from Jacob Waga capped a 5-2 run for Wentworth to open the first set before Nichols knotted the set at 5-all. Two finishes from Nicolai Bell helped continue the advantage to 13-9 before the Bison later clawed back to take a 19-17 lead. A kill from Waga knotted the score at 20 aside before another marked a 21-21 draw. A 4-1 run led the Leopards to a 25-21 set win.
- The Bison dominated the early portion of the second set, holding respective 4-0, 8-3, and 10-5 leads. A finish by Waga kept the deficit later at 14-9 before a finish by Bell marked an 18-13 score later on. Nichols raced out to a 23-14 set lead and, while two finishes from Andrew Ahn cut the deficit to 23-17, held on for a 25-17 set win.
- Wentworth began the third frame with an 8-1 run, featuring three kills from Alem Dubcak and another two from Benjamin Moughon. A finish by Ahn marked a 12-5 lead before Nichols later cut the deficit to just two at 15-13 and 16-14 scores. A kill by Waga helped Wentworth to a 19-14 lead before another two kills from Waga along with a strike from Ahn helped the Black & Gold fend off a late Bison charge, 25-19.
- The Bison jumped out to a 7-3 lead in the fourth frame only for it to be erased on a series of errors, marking an 8-7 lead for Wentworth. Another string of errors continued the Leopards' lead to 14-9 before kills by Ahn and Bell helped Wentworth to a 17-10 advantage. A 5-0 run down the stretch, featuring two kills from Moughon, paced the Black & Gold to a 25-17 set win.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Waga surpassed the 500 career kills milestone with his 11 putaways. Alongside his offensive efforts, he also totaled three solo blocks and three block assists.
SERIES NOTES:
- The Black & Gold are a perfect 7-0 all-time against the Bison, previously besting them in three sets back in January.
