#9 Men's Volleyball Handles Emerson
Leopards sweep Lions to stay undefeated in GNAC play; Eli Turner leads with a team-high eight kills

BOSTON, Mass. – A spread attack with a team clip of .435 paced the No. 9-ranked Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team to a sweep of conference foe Emerson in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action Tuesday night.
With the win, the Leopards improve to 23-5 and stay perfect in GNAC play (12-0). The Lions slip to 8-14 (4-7 GNAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Three aces and four kills took part in a 10-4 run for the Leopards to open the first set before two kills by Alek Reymond helped pace the advantage to 17-7. Finishes by Sam Etter and Matthew Zegowitz marked a 21-9 lead before an ace by Gabe Tucker sealed a 25-10 set win.
- A finish by Tucker marked a 3-2 edge for the Leopards in the second frame before two kills by Eli Turner raised the score to 7-4. A string of kills by Reymond, Tucker, and Turner (2) helped pace the advantage to 17-12. Another string of finishes, including two by Mason Andrade, pushed Wentworth to a 25-17 set win.
- A kill by Luke Sun marked a 6-3 advantage for the Black & Gold in the third set before the Lions rallied tot take a 9-6 lead. Behind 13-10, three errors and a kill by Turner gave Wentworth a 14-13 edge before another kill by Turner later on marked a 17-16 score. Three putaways by Jeremy Macek and a final from Turner clinched the Leopards a 25-22 set win.
SERIES NOTES:
- The Black & Gold are 29-2 all-time against the Lions, having previously bested them back on February 1.
