Men's Cross Country Earns Multiple USTFCCCA All-Academic Accolades
Leopards earns their fourth straight team academic award; Ryan Ballard (second straight) and Ezra Blasko named all-academic athletes
BOSTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's cross country team has earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team honors for the 2024 season, as recently announced by the organization.
In addition to the team earning all-academic honors, two Leopards were named all-academic athletes. Ryan Ballard earned the honor for the second straight year while Ezra Blasko was named to the squad in his first season with the team.
Wentworth earns the honor for having had its student-athletes who used a season of eligibility this season earn at least a 3.10 grade point average during the fall 2024 semester. The Leopards had a 3.58 grade point average as a team. This marks the eighth time in program history Wentworth has earned this award, having also earned this honor in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023.
Ballard (now twice) and Blasko become the seventh and eighth Leopards, respectively, to earn this honor, joining Alex Robbins '18 (three times) and Patrick Hopkins '18 (twice). In order to earn all-academic athlete honors, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
