HOW IT HAPPENED:
- With two runners on, a double from Ava Ladd drove both home to give the Engineers a 2-0 lead in the second inning. MIT padded their lead to 5-0 in the fourth frame as a pair of home runs accounted for three runs.
- After the Engineers capitalized on an early single in the fifth, a triple from Olivia Scarpaci plated another two runners to mark an 8-0 game. After another RBI single, a triple from Delaney Benevides drove home another two scores to extend MIT's advantage to 11-0.
- Wentworth got on the board in the back half of the frame as a sacrifice fly from Kelsey Medalia drove home a run from Jenna Roche. However, the Leopards following two batters flew out to the outfield, ending the comeback threat.
