SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Wentworth Institute of Technology freshman forward Kendra Kerr (Marshfield, Mass.) has been named the New England Women's Basketball Association Rookie of the Week for the week of January 31-February 6.

Kerr tallied 12.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals per outing in a 1-1 week for the Leopards. The forward was at her best on Thursday, when she recorded a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds against the University of New England. Two days later, she helped Wentworth snap a six-game losing streak win a 60-46 win over Anna Maria College with her 11 points, five boards, four assists and five steals. Over the course of the week, Kerr knocked down 52.3% (11-21) of her shots from the floor.

On the season she has started 14 of the 21 games she has appeared in for the 9-12 Leopards, averaging 10.1 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game.  She has recorded three double-doubles on the season and has led Wentworth in scoring in nine games.
