Rogers, Deoleo Named All-Commonwealth Coast Conference

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Student-athletes from all 10 member institutions in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) were represented on the 2014-15 All-CCC Women's Basketball Team. In addition to the all-conference team, four major individual award winners and the team sportsmanship award winner were selected.

University of New England senior Kelly Coleman was named CCC Player of the Year and University of New England junior Lauren Hayden was selected CCC Defensive Player of the Year. Endicott College freshman Hannah Shaw was awarded CCC Rookie of the Year and Curry's Kylie Beltz was honored as CCC Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Roger Williams University's Kelly Thompson was selected as the CCC Coach of the Year, while Gordon College received the Team Sportsmanship Award.

Voting for the All-CCC team and each of the major awards was conducted among CCC women's basketball coaches.

Joining Beltz and Coleman on the first team were Angelica Ariola (Roger Williams), Kelsey Cuddy (Endicott), Meaghan Harden (Salve Regina), and Mhiah Vickers (Eastern Nazarene).

Second team honorees included Meghan Gribbin (University of New England), Brooke Kratche (Gordon), Amber Litwinko (Nichols), Alanna Vose (University of New England) and Chelsea Vujs (Western New England).

Joining Hayden on the third team were Alicia Brown (University of New England), Brianna Del Valle (Salve Regina), Riselly Deoleo (Wentworth), Samantha McCann (Western New England), Dorothy O'Neill (Western New England), and Carly Rogers (Wentworth).

A Native of Scarborough, Maine, Rogers has started all 25 of the Leopards games and is averaging 12.5 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.3 blocks, and 2.0 steals per game. She has recorded 10 double-doubles and had season highs of 23 points in a 65-55 win over Nichols on January 17 and 14 rebounds in a 56-38 loss to Curry on December 9. Additionally, she was named to the all-tournament team at the D3Hoops.com Classic in Las Vegas.

Starting 57 of the 75 games she has played in her career, Rogers has averaged 8.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. She ranks sixth in program history with 71 blocked shots and ninth in rebounds with 548.

Deoleo has had an impressive rookie campaign for the Leopards. Starting all 25 of the team's games, she is averaging 11.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.2 steals per game. The Manchester, N.H. native had career highs of 21 points in a 61-52 loss to Western New England on February 11, 11 rebounds in a 44-41 win over Endicott on February 17, and seven assists in a 52-39 loss at Gordon on January 29.

The number eight seed in the CCC Tournament, the Leopards travel to top-seeded University of New England for a quarterfinal round match-up tonight at 7:00 p.m.
