BIDDEFORD, Maine – Five different players scored in double figures, including freshman Abby Cavallaro (South Portland, Maine) who netted a game-high 15 points as the University of New England women's basketball team defeated Wentworth Institute of Technology, 94-38, in Commonwealth Coast Conference action Tuesday night.

With the win the Nor'Easters improve to 4-5 overall and 2-0 in CCC play while the Leopards fall to 0-8 (0-3).

UNE jumped out to an 11-0 lead three minutes into the contest before a sophomore Erin Morton (Norway, Maine) jumper put Wentworth on the board. The Nor'Easters led by 16 late in the frame after a three pointer from sophomore Elyssa Nicholas (Southborough, Mass.) and held a 27-10 lead at the end of the quarter.

The hosts extended their lead to 25 just under four minutes remaining in the second quarter when junior Ashley Coneys (Dover, N.H.) hit one of two free throws. Wentworth used a 6-0 spurt, with four points coming from Morton and two from classmate Molley Duclos (Greenfield, Mass.) to make it 37-18 with 1:02 left in the half. The Nor'Easters scored the final six points of the half and led, 43-18, at the break.

UNE opened the second half by scoring the first five points and eventually used a 26-8 run to take a 69-24 lead. The Nor'Easters built on their lead throughout the remainder of the third quarter and took their largest lead of the night in the fourth quarter.
