HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Wentworth had a hold on the Seahawks for the entirety of the first half, jumping out to a 10-5 lead after a three-pointer from Kayla Kelley (Boston, Mass.). The Seahawks answered with a thunderous 8-0 charge to take a 13-10 lead, and extended the lead to four, 17-13 at the end of the first.
  • A hot start to the second quarter for the Leopards stole the lead back for the Black & Gold, as a booming 11-0 run put WIT ahead 24-17 after a layup from Isabella Perez (Homestead, Fla.). Wentworth kept out in front until the halftime buzzer, just before Torie Scorpio connected from long range to pull Salve within one, 31-30.
  • Both teams battled evenly out of the break, before Salve ultimately ran away with the game in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Leopards 19-10. Wentworth struggled from the floor in the final ten, while Lauryn Becker and Scorpio combined for 12 points to keep Salve ahead for the win.
